The link to the book’s working draft is taken down while the draft is revised. The finished book will be published on this site.
Objection #22 logged, open: Trenton Merricks’s argument that Maximality makes experiencing extrinsic. Only the peak of processes that share parts is a seat, so a cluster inside a larger peak is not a seat, though cut free with the same activity it would be. Whether experiencing occurs would then depend on what surrounds it. Twenty-one closed, one open; none closed by outright defeat.
Integration redefined: loss on a cut is the measure. A process is integrated to the degree that even its weakest cut, severing connections in both directions while keeping every part, loses something the whole could do. Two-way constraint is no longer required, and a connection means a causal influence, not a shared correlation. Cost: one-way mechanisms, such as clocks and chains of dominoes, now integrate faintly. The key terms are updated to match.
Theorem III’s condition, that all of an act’s aware instants are one instant, renamed SingleAware. SingleInstant now names only Theorem IV’s condition on stages, so no symbol carries two meanings.
The full formal proofs are published on their own page, with the notation key: the signature, the floor, every axiom, and every result with its proof, in the local forms adopted 2026-10-20.
The book’s full draft is finished and linked from this page for review: eleven chapters, a Coda and a glossary. The name is now defined: LEVEETHEDOT names the whole nature, running, known only from within its seats. A seat is LEVEETHEDOT, a real, full mode; anything else that’s doing something, a rock included, is of it.
Objections #20 and #21 added, both closed by accepted cost. #20, presentism and the growing block: the framework declines a special cosmic frame and takes the step that what is real for one observer is real for another, which Howard Stein and presentists deny. #21, libertarian free will: the choosing is real, but the strong freedom to have done otherwise, with everything else the same, is not promised. All twenty-one objections are closed, none by outright defeat.
“Individual” defined: a seat, and the character it runs. Added to the key terms.
A teleporter copy ruled an heir: a new seat, handed the old character. This parts ways with Derek Parfit, for whom the copy is as good as ordinary survival, and is logged as an accepted cost.
The idea of a single act that discloses the lived totality is retired. Restated: no act discloses the lived totality, and each seat’s lived content is disclosed only from within that seat. Theorems I and IV now stand as barriers.
Cost logged: there is no lived NOW in dreamless sleep, though some researchers argue for faint experience there.
Relativity taken on board. There is no universal now, so claims about “the same instant” at different seats now use spacelike separation, which every observer agrees on. The proofs were re-run. Cost: the framework relies on relativity’s causal structure.
The definition of acquaintance (C2′) split into two named halves, and a contradiction in its wording fixed.
A sixth drafting check added: no logical fallacies.
Metamorphosis label added, reserved for changes forced by a defeat.
Key terms moved to the front of the page, after a first reader’s feedback. Totality, integrated, character and mode are now defined too.
The name’s pronunciation added in Hyde’s own voice.
First public version of this page.
Objection #19, illusionism, closed by accepted cost. It rests on the floor read thick (experiencing has felt character) and on a narrowed acquaintance principle. All nineteen objections are closed, none by outright defeat.
The acquaintance principle split in two. C3a: lived content is disclosed only by acquaintance. C3b: acquaintance discloses that lived content occurs, within the NOW in which it occurs.
Lived content ruled numerical: each seat’s lived content is its own, even when another seat’s is indistinguishable from it. Three axioms repaired to match.
Rule added for provisional statements: every IF/THEN names its condition and what fails if the condition goes the other way.
Cost ledger started.
